Guest Lecture: Integrated Treatment with Herbal Medicine and Conventional Medicine News and Activities
The Doctoral Program in Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, held a guest lecture on "Integrated Medicine, Especially Herbal Medicine and Conventional Medicine" on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. This event aimed to provide in-depth insight into treatments that combine herbal and conventional medicine in medical practice.
The guest lecture was presented by Prof. Dr. dr. Nyoman Kertia, Sp.PD-KR, FINASIM, an expert in integrative medicine and evidence-based medicine. He explained the concept of integrated medicine, which can increase treatment effectiveness by combining two approaches: herbal medicine and conventional medicine.
The event was attended by students, lecturers, and medical practitioners interested in deepening their knowledge of the development of integrated medicine, as well as the benefits and challenges of combining these two approaches. The guest lecture also provided an opportunity for discussion on the scientifically proven potential of herbal medicine to support conventional medicine.
This guest lecture is expected to provide participants with new knowledge and perspectives useful in addressing today's medical challenges.
