Doctoral promotion exam Ni Made Umi Kartika Dewi, S.KM., M.Kes News and Activities

DENPASAR – The Doctoral Program in Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK UNUD), has added another new doctoral graduate. On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, the Open Doctoral Promotion Examination for Promovenda Ni Made Umi Kartika Dewi, S.KM., M.Kes., was held solemnly.

Promovenda, a student in the 2023/2024 intake, passed the Phase I Final Examination (Closed Examination) on March 13, 2026. In this open examination, she presented her dissertation, which focused on developing a health education model for diabetes patients, entitled:

"Development of the S.E.H.A.T. Education Model Based on the Integration of the Health Belief Model and the Theory of Planned Behavior for the Rational Use of Complementary Therapy in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients in Denpasar City."

The Open Session

The session consisted of three main stages: the dissertation presentation, a question and answer session by the promoter and objector teams, and a question and answer session by invited academics. The examining panel assessed the depth of the scientific reasoning of the proposed proposal and the significance of the S.E.H.A.T. model developed as a rational educational instrument to support complementary therapy management in diabetes patients.

This research was conducted under the guidance of a promoter team consisting of:

Promoter: Dr. Luh Seri Ani, SKM., M.Kes.

Co-promoter I: Prof. Dr. Pande Putu Januraga, M.Kes., Dr.PH.

Co-promoter II: Dr. dr. Agung Wiwiek Indrayani, M.Kes.

The scientific capacity of the proposed proposal was also comprehensively examined by eight objectors, consisting of professors and multidisciplinary experts, as well as four invited academics who provided strategic input for the development of the educational model.

Degree Confession

Following a graduation meeting that considered academic achievement, research diligence, and dissertation defense skills, the chairperson declared the dissertation accepted and the promotion declared PASSED.

With this success, Ni Made Umi Kartika Dewi, S.KM., M.Kes., was officially conferred as the 491st Doctor in the Doctoral Program in Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.

"Starting today, you are granted the right to use the title of Doctor with all the rights, obligations, and honors that come with it. On behalf of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, we congratulate Dr. Ni Made Umi Kartika Dewi, S.KM., M.Kes., on today's success," concluded the chairperson.
