Doctoral promotion exam dr. Ni Ketut Putri Ariani, Sp.KJ(K) News and Activities
DENPASAR – The Doctoral Program in Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK UNUD), held its Open Doctoral Promotion Examination on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. During the defense, Dr. Ni Ketut Putri Ariani, Sp.KJ(K) successfully defended her dissertation and officially earned her doctorate.
This achievement was achieved after the candidate completed all study programs and passed the Phase I Final Examination (Closed Examination) on April 30, 2026. Her dissertation research focused on the integration of complementary therapies in the recovery of cancer patients, with the title:
"Hatha Yoga Training Increases Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor and Serotonin Levels, and Reduces Interleukin-6 Levels and Depressive Symptoms in Breast Cancer Patients Following Modified Radical Mastectomy at Ngoerah Hospital."
The Open Session
The session was conducted comprehensively through three stages: the dissertation presentation, a question and answer session by the promoter and objector teams, and a question and answer session by invited academics. The examining panel highly appreciated the scientific reasoning of the proposed research proposal and the significance of this research in improving the quality of life and mental health of breast cancer patients.
This research was conducted under the guidance of a promoter team consisting of:

In addition to the promoter team, the scientific quality of the proposed research proposal was also examined by seven objectors, professors and experts in the fields of psychiatry, biomedicine, and other medical fields, as well as five invited academics who provided strategic input for future research development.
Conferral of Degree
Following a graduation meeting that considered the candidate's academic achievements during the study period, research diligence, and the candidate's ability to defend their dissertation, the chairperson of the examination determined that the dissertation was accepted and the candidate was declared PASSED.
With this result, Dr. Ni Ketut Putri Ariani, Sp.KJ(K) was officially conferred as the 495th Doctor in the Doctoral Program in Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.
"Starting today, you are granted the right to use the title of Doctor with all the rights, obligations, and honors that come with it.
