DENPASAR – The Doctoral Program in Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK UNUD), graduated another doctorate through the Open Doctoral Promotion Examination held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. Promovendus Dr. Ida Bagus Krisna Jaya Sutawan, M.Kes., Sp.An-TI., Subsp. NA(K), successfully earned his doctorate after defending his dissertation before a panel of examiners.

This research is the culmination of a series of studies by this 2023/2024 student, who previously passed the Phase I Final Examination (Closed Examination) on October 20, 2025. In his dissertation, he addressed stress management innovations with the title:

"The Effect of Mindfulness Meditation-Based Mindfulness Training on Dopamine D1 Receptor mRNA Expression, NF?B Transcription Factor mRNA Expression, and Stress Scores in Anesthesiology Residents at Ngoerah Hospital."

The Open Session

The session took place solemnly in three stages: the dissertation presentation, a question-and-answer session by the promoter and objector teams, and a question-and-answer session by invited academics. The examination panel's assessment focused on the scientific reasoning and the research's relevance to maintaining the mental health of medical personnel, particularly anesthesiology residents in a teaching hospital setting.

This research was supervised by a team of promoters consisting of:

In addition to the promoter team, the scientific quality of the dissertation was also assessed by seven objectors, who are professors and multidisciplinary experts, as well as five invited academics who provided strategic input for future research development.

Confession of Degree

Following a graduation meeting that considered the candidate's academic achievements during their studies, research diligence, and ability to defend their dissertation, the chairperson of the examination determined that the dissertation was accepted and the candidate was declared PASSED.

With this success, Dr. Ida Bagus Krisna Jaya Sutawan, M.Kes., Sp.An-TI., Subsp. NA(K) was officially conferred as the 489th Doctor in the Doctoral Program in Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.
